i dont see what the problem is. Its just a little eye candy to show you which unit is selected. the game doesn't have to be completely realistic.

For some reason Oslo, Stockholm and Copenhagen are city-states as well. I don't really care, but I thought that was a bit odd.

If that were true (and I hope it isn't) That would mean no Korea as well, which wouldn't make much sense. I forsee that when you install an expansion the respective city states getting taken our or replaced to make room for a full-fledged civilization. Withour Madrid as a city state (so far), I suspect you'll have to pay extra for a Spanish civ much like Babylon.

my guess is when they make those civs the city state will be replaced by a different city state they haven't used yet.
