It is the BUG mod. I highly recommend it. It has a lot of extra information that the quattromasters take for granted. I'd been playing and doing well, even some #1 spots on the HOF board before they merged the BUG mod into Buffy (the anti cheating mod for Hall of Fame). It has a great many uses. It will let you know who's thinking of declaring war on you even though you have a +12 relationship (like Montezuma). It will give you a count of the number of cities of civs; yours and others. It will let you know who's the worst enemy of whom so that you don't start trading with someone without knowing the ramifications. More ways to keep track of your units than you can shake a stick at. Even if you don't use it for HOF, I would use it just for the info.

I've only been playing a couple weeks, and I once saw a barbarian stuck in a place like that. Granted, it was a bear, but still. One day he was just gone.
