Civ6 Hall of Fame Opened

By | October 30, 2016

The Civ VI Hall of Fame has started up the first Beta (ie unofficial) Gauntlet, while the official Civ VI Hall of Fame is being readied for business.

The idea is to get some discussion going as to strategy, introduce new players to the Hall of Fame and welcome back old friends from V and earlier.

The winner is the person who submits the fastest finishing game with the following settings:

  • Victory Condition: Cultural (though all victory conditions must be enabled)
  • Difficulty: Prince
  • Starting Era: Ancient
  • Map Size: Small
  • Map Type: Continents
  • Speed: Normal
  • Leader: Phillip II
  • Opponents: Any, 5 opponents only (default option)
  • Resources: Standard
  • Start Position: Standard
  • Limit Turns: By Game Speed
  • Must Not Be Checked: No Barbarians
  • Date: 30th October to 29th November 2016

Check out the thread for submitting entries right here.

I used to see a lot of these for Civ 4 + 5 back in the day but have never attempted one.

Just giving an attempt a quick go it seems a very large part of this challenge is restarting until you find that killer start – even if it takes 20-30 turns to come to that conclusion. From that point on I would imagine it is a lot of save manipulation to see how ‘perfect’ you can play afterwards, sort of like a tool-assisted speed run. Is that how these sorts of things work? Just curious if it is worth fooling around with.

Reloading/replaying isn’t allowed in HOF games – though at this stage that’s enforced by the honour system.

Will you consider including into future HoF a seeds of maps – it`s a nice feature and in my humble opinion it suits HoF like games perfectly.
