In this game You will see a real swordfighting between warriors
Scenario description:
After the glorios victory of united Greek forses against Perisa, the feud separated Peloponnesus peninsula under Sparta rule from Greece, lead by Athens. Greece's two biggest poleis were preparing for war. Sparta based the Peloponnesian Union, Aphens gathered their allies in the Delian Union. The iron force of Sparta hoplites was almost invinsible, but Athenians fleet was superior on sea. Moreover, Athenians built the Long Wals to protect their capital. Both sides were only awaiting an occasion to send their armies in the battle. It happened in 431 BC ...
In this scenario I fulfilled my old dream - to create the beautiful and the cruel Civilization of ancient Greece in the bloodest period before Alexandre The Great Invasion.

Units in War
Most powerful units in game are the Spartan infantry.Sparta can produce only
Spartans and Spartan Peltasts with militia as supporting forces.Sparta can not
produce cavalry and slingers and can't build warships in the early stages of the
game.
Rebellious Messenians have no heavy infantry, cavalry and war fleet.
It is weakest player.
Others can successfully produce all types of units, except Spartans and
Spartan peltasts and Spartan (Persian) warships. War-Machines can be produced
only by those sides which can obtain a Pifagor Theorem. Even simple units
(slingers and peltasts) have enough hit-points and can be very dangerous
for heavy infantry.

But beware - enemies near-by !
Quest and Missions
It is very interesting part of game. Here are some special mission for
different players.
Mission for Athens - to find a track and capture the Persian satrap Farnabaz,
who arrives in Laconica. You will make a lot of gold with that.Mission for
Sparta - to intercept a ship with an Athenian ambassador on board and this will
reveal an important secret of the Athenians. You need a lot of warships to
fulfil this quest, because the locationof this ship and its itinerary is
unknown.
Mission for all sides - to take control of the Pifagor Theorem, which will
allow (justonce) to side-attacker to build powerful war-machines.
Mission for all sides - locate the ruins of the ancient city of Troy and
find a treasure.
Missions may become impossible if at a certain moment you will have either
not enough ships, soldiers or if you miss a time point, when the mission
begin. Or if you are in war with one of your former allies at that moment.
So I recommend to maintain peace with your friends.
If you're not a player on the protagonist side (Thessalia, Beotia, Delian
Union Messenia) you can intercept any mission, but it can bring you to
war with some of your powerful allies, such as Sparta or Athens.
Pics and.... ...Wonders
I made some pics for this scenario - it is a Pifagor Theorem, Armoury,
Shipyard, Treasury.
Some others - from Internet or combination fromCiv-II images.
Pifagor Theorem - gives possibility to build War Machines.
Olympic Games - work as ancient United Nations or the Great Wall.
Treasury - work as Adam Smith's Trading C.
Armoury - adds shields to city, work as factory.
Shipyard - work as a port facility.
Harbour - adds shields to city.
Fish Farm - adds food to city, which is located near the water.
Food Warehouse - adds food to city .
Small map - big war!
In the game used a "small" map. I know that a lot of players prefer to play with big map. I always did it myself when was playing the classic Civilization-II. But in this case, when there are many war sides (8), a lot of unit end events - the best choice is a "small" map.It gives the possibility to achieve a total victory before you become tired. From first moment you will be involved in direct combat. That is you can not expand your territory in any other way, but conquering enemy cities. You can build new cities only on small islands, butI think you will too busy in war to do it. Settlers are needed mainly for building communications (roads),fortress and plow fields. The Greek archipelago with numerous islands is a very comfortable place for naval operation of your glorious fleet.
"The War" mean "Money"
Money in this game is a very important factor. Especially for some players, such as Sparta. Sparta, under Oligarchian rule always are short on money. Some times the Persian (virtual ally) will bring money as a financial support. But you have no choice to improve your economy but by capturing enemies cities and build markets, black markets, etc. there. Also Sparta can get access to big money if capture enemies Wonders, such as Delian Union's Treasury, Colossus, and others.
Beware, Spartans are going !
I tested the game from other sides and found, that Sparta is the most interesting to play. It is a main protagonist. She has a powerful Athens in front and the rebel Messenia behind. In the beginning of the game the Athenian fleet controls all sea coasts and Sparta has no other road to victory but to crash Messenia first and then to suppress Athens. But it will not be easy, because the more Spartan power will grow the more enemies she will obtain in the face others Greece poleis.
Therefore I recommend to play as Sparta. But other sides, including Messenia, are interesting too.
"Bugs"
The game still have some bugs. I think, it is Microprose Macro Language bugs. All "Events" was wrote with FW Events Editor (usually I make it manually),but some command may be will not work. For example - if you killed enemy Oligarch but not got a money and text not appeared - it is a bug. I can not clean this sort of bug.
If some cities are incorrect, I will be grateful if You send to me a saved file with corrected cities. I have no English Map of this period of history. If you will find any other bugs let me know.
This is all now - ENJOY !
