Sullla’s AI Survivor: The Troll King Is Unleashed!

By | April 29, 2026

Season 9 Game Five!

Sullla’s AI Survivor is an annual competition of all Civilization IV AI Leaders by long-time Civilization enthusiast and streamer Sullla. CFC is very excited to announce that the popular series returns after almost a two-year hiatus with Season Nine. AI Survivor has become quite an event over the years for both old and new Civ IV fans.

Game 4 Recap (click for write-up): To my dismay, the two not-so-friendly leaders, Boudica of the Celts and Peter of Russia, proved unable to hold their own this week against the Peacemakers. Along with Charlemagne of the Holy Roman Empire, both are now officially out of the competition. Peter was especially ineffective, bowing out early to the deceptively docile Roosevelt of America. Meanwhile, Ramesses II of Egypt clinched a tightly contested culture victory, narrowly beating the space race attempt of Darius of Persia—who, as usual, somehow excelled while doing almost nothing. Though Ramesses had a fantastic start fueled by wonders and cathedrals, he was literally saved from disaster twice by Hammurabi of Babylon, who ended the game with the largest share of land and a second-place finish. With Ramesses, Hammurabi, Darius, and Roosevelt moving on, this marks the first game where the top-seeded leader actually advanced instead of being the first to die!

This week, our own Thrasybulos (I spelled that wrong 10 times) excelled with a standalone 1st place Game 4 finish. Congrats, Mr. T! (yes…I gave up lol ) His convincing victory now places him in the #1 spot in the overall contest to date. Also, a-pen-dragon at #4 and Mylene (aka Fippy) at #5 are representin’ us Fanatics well!

GAME 5 ON May 1st (noon EST)

Game 5: The legendary Wang Kon of Korea has officially arrived, and the Civ IV AI Survivor arena is in for a world of chaos! Known as the “Troll King” for his uncanny ability to derail rival strategies, he sauntered onto the battlefield with a mischievous glint and a stash of protective longbowmen. While others posture with military might, Wang Kon is busy building frustrating walls or—true to his chaotic nature—launching a bewildering, cross-map trek just to attack a target miles from his borders. He isn’t just here to play; he’s here to survive by being the most stubborn, unpredictable and brilliantly annoying leader on the map. As the war horns sound, the Troll King is ready to turn this competition into a masterclass in defensive trolling and unpredictable aggression!

1492 – Colonization of the New World – Now Available!

By | April 26, 2026

Our user SaltyOlives has notified us that they and their team have released their Colonization inspired game “1492 – Colonization of the New World”.

As you can guess, this is a game about colonizing the new world in a turn-based way. You can lead one of 8 European nations, and you must settle unknown lands, build up your production to develop your settlements, negotiate with the natives, and ultimately decleare independence from the colonizing monarchy.

The game and its graphics are aimed at old-school “Colonization” fans, and system requirements are therefore moderate.

If you want to try it, there is a free demo available on Steam. The game is also currently discounted, for 24.29€. Check it out on Steam here, and discuss it with us here.

Sullla’s AI Survivor: Oh How The Mighty Have Fallen!

By | April 21, 2026

Season 9 Game Four!

Game 3 Recap (click for write-up): In an unprecedented streak of upsets, the season’s top-seeded leaders have faced a brutal “curse,” with the #1 rank in the first three games becoming a literal death sentence. Not only have these favorites been eliminated, but in every instance, the top seed was the very first leader to be wiped off the map. Game three saw the highly favored Pacal of the Mayans crushed in a lightning-fast conquest by Qin of China, who used the seized Mayan lands as a springboard for a ruthless campaign. Qin didn’t stop there, steamrolling through Pericles of Greece and Julius Caesar of Rome to claim a commanding Domination Victory. While Sury of the Khmer and Sitting Bull managed to survive in a desperate scramble for second place, it was Sury who narrowly held the runner-up spot—clinging to life even as Qin’s late-game war machine began closing in.

This week, our Warrior Queen Mylene (aka Fippy) led all Fanatics with a 3rd-place Game 3 finish. Meanwhile, in the overall contest to date, a-pen-dragon was finally able to pull the sword from the stone, and now holds the #1 spot, exclusively, while Plains-Cow, lactose-free, now stands in a tie at the #3 position!

GAME 4 ON APRIL 24TH (noon EST)

Game 4 Welcome to the Land of the Peacemakers, a map so dominated by high peace-weight leaders it feels more like a diplomatic gala than a battlefield. In this sea of civility, Boudica of the Celts is the lone shark circling the waters, yet even she refuses to strike if relations remain “Pleased.” While the usually inert Roosevelt and the opportunistic Peter are the only ones willing to plot at “Cautious,” all eyes are on the top tier: #1 seed Darius and the powerhouse #2 seed Charlemagne. Darius may hold the crown for now, but with the “top seed curse” looming and fans starting to doubt his dominance, the stage is set for an upset. Will this game dissolve into a passive love-fest, or will Boudica find the spark to ignite an unpredictable, high-stakes bloodbath?
